How We Support Your Healing Journey

Adult Family Therapy provides a compassionate space for families to reconnect, communicate openly, and work through long-standing patterns that impact relationships. Whether you’re navigating conflict, healing generational wounds, or simply wanting to strengthen your bond, this therapeutic space supports deeper understanding and healthier connection.

  • Our work together focuses on helping adult family members:

  • Improve communication and emotional safety

  • Repair trust and navigate past hurts

  • Understand generational patterns and shared histories

  • Strengthen boundaries and mutual respect

  • Build healthier, more supportive relationships

Jacqueline Armijo, AMFT, guides family sessions with a trauma-informed, relational, and culturally sensitive lens. Her approach centers compassion, curiosity, and collaboration — helping each family member feel heard and supported.

  • Jacqueline integrates evidence-based modalities including:

  • Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)

  • Parts Work / Internal Family Systems (IFS-informed)

  • Somatic and mindfulness-based practices

  • Attachment-focused interventions

Every family brings its own story, and each session is customized to your unique needs, history, and goals.

This service is designed for families with adult members, such as:

  • Parent(s) and adult children

  • Adult siblings

  • Blended families

  • Adult children navigating caregiving roles

  • Families healing from loss, estrangement, or unresolved conflict

  • Families wanting to rebuild or deepen connection

  • Families struggling with transitions (moving, marriage, illness, role shifts)

  • Family members who have been impacted by narcissistic traits, emotional immature and pathological individuals.

You do not need to be in crisis to benefit — adult family therapy can also be a space for growth, clarity, and strengthening bonds.

As trauma-informed therapists, we are dedicated to supporting adult families as they navigate the complexities of their shared history, communication patterns, and relational experiences. Here’s how we support your family:

  • Safe and Compassionate Space: We create a non-judgmental environment where each family member can openly express their feelings, perspectives, and needs. Our sessions prioritize emotional safety, active listening, and respect so every voice feels valued.

  • Personalized And Evidence-Based: Our approach is tailored to your family’s unique dynamics, drawing from Family Systems Theory, Emotionally Focused Family Therapy (EFFT), attachment-based work, IFS-informed parts work, CBT strategies, and somatic practices. These modalities help families understand long-standing patterns, shift reactive cycles, and strengthen supportive ways of relating.

  • Educational Resources: We offer guidance, tools, and psychoeducation to help your family recognize generational patterns, communication styles, emotional triggers, and boundary challenges. This insight empowers each member to better understand themselves and one another, creating a foundation for healthier connection.

  • Collaborative Healing: We work with your family to set shared goals, repair relational injuries, foster empathy, and build stronger communication. Our work together supports healing, reconnection, and the creation of more grounded, respectful, and meaningful relationships.
